an outside sales representative in the NY Metro Market.  Requirements
include a minimum 5 years of proven performance selling a complex
solution to business owners.  Other desirable experience would include
prior business ownership/management, public accounting, or business
consulting.  Must have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and
deal with people at all levels within an organization.

Sales Rep Job Description

Reports to:  Director of Sales

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Department:  Sales

Division:  Alcott

Summary:  Selling Alcott services to small and mid-sized businesses

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other
duties may be assigned.  

 

Prospect for new client opportunities using a combination of methods
including networking, phone, mail, email, seminars etc.

 

Join networking groups and develop relationships with referral sources
including consultants, CPAs, attorneys, insurance brokers etc.  Many
networking opportunities take place either very early in the morning or
in the evening.  Plan to spend an average of 2 nights per week
networking.

  

Respond to inbound leads in a timely and professional manner.

 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date contact records and appointment
calendar.

 

Prepare and maintain presentation materials as well as deliver standup
sessions to prospective  audience.

 

Handle the entire sales cycle, from beginning to close, including
presentations, proposal preparation, negotiations and execution of the
client services agreement.

 

Gather all necessary information for implementation and work with the
operations department during client implementation.

 

Prepare activity and pipeline reports and meet with Sales Director to
review and strategize on a regular basis.

 

Maintain positive client relations and assist in providing solutions to
resolve client issues by coordinating with Alcott internal staff.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. Or B.S.) or equivalent from 4-year college or
business school; minimum 5 years of sales selling a complex solution to
business owners.  Other desirable experience would include business
ownership/management, public accounting, or business consulting.  Proven
ability to manage multiple tasks and deal with people at all levels
within an organization. 

 

Language Ability:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with English language.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental
regulations.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions and percentages.

 

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,
oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
MS Word, PowerPoint , Excel  spreadsheet software and MS Outlook.

 

Work Environment:

The nature of this position dictates that there will be a combination of
in-office and out-of-office work.  Travel to and from client meeting
using personal vehicle and/or public transportation will be required.
