Here¹s another idea...If you do business or have a friend working at a large
or prominent DC law firm, chances are good that they rented a large room in
a beautiful hotel along the Inaugural Parade route to host a reception for
their friends, colleagues and clients.    You might hit on them to get an
invitation to that reception when you¹ll see everyone passing by....It¹s
great fun, warm, and far less disappointing than standing inside a freezing
cold hotel ballroom, starving and uncomfortable and waiting for the new
president to arrive where you¹ll get a glimmer of him for maybe a few
seconds.  

I did this at Clinton¹s inauguration (my brother heads the litigation dept
at Dickstein Shapiro & Moran).  I bought a round-trip Metroliner  ticket,
got a few fabulous Clinton/Gore tee-shirts, hats and buttons, and a good
time was had by all.....
