[Fredslist] Let's try a medical question...

Gotham,

I have asked many types of questions over the years, so I figured a
medical question wasn't beyond the scope of Gotham's capabilities...

I had pneumonia for almost a month; during the process of healing I was
given steroids, both in pill form and through inhalers, and my vocal cords
took a beating from the inhaled steroids.

Long story short I can barely speak, which my wife loves but I am unhappy
about.  Doctors tell me the fungus that was caused by the steroids will
eventually go away, and my voice in turn will come back.

I'm going to Costa Rica Wednesday and I'd like to be able to talk...anyone
ever go through this before and maybe have a home remedy to expedite the
healing of my vocal cords?
