[Fredslist] Advice on Mini DV with Firewire for MAC

Hi All,

Apple staff suggested Canon or Panasonic Mini DV (tape vs. disc so it can edited) with Firewire.  Have a MacBook.  I'm a bit boggled trying to research online, so the light bulb of asking Gotham help struck!  It will be used primarily for clients' Platform Skills and for Accent Reduction so I probably need a plug-in microphone to enhance sound quality.  And a tripod.

Need to purchase and learn within 10 days...
