[Fredslist] Summer Legal Intern Needed

Gotham - Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, an 865 bed acute and long term care facility located in Central Brooklyn, is seeking a summer legal intern to assist with a number of projects within the Office of General Counsel and the Department of Development.  The candidate will work directly with the Hospital’s General Counsel and Director of Development who will together coordinate the intern’s activities.

The projects will enable the chosen candidate to closely observe and assist senior management team members with issues relating to hospital and not-for-profit operations, including, among other things, not-for-profit fundraising, management of medical malpractice litigation, and commercial financing related filings.   The candidate will need to be able to function independently once assigned to a project, think and write critically, and actively work in excel and access databases, and will need to have completed either their first or second years of law school.

Kingsbrook will require a minimum 6-8 week time commitment.  The intern will be expected to commit a professional amount of time to their efforts, and will be required to pass standard hospital screenings for volunteers.
