Thanks to all who responded.  I ended up calling the upholsterer
referred to me by the owner of Bon-Ton, Al at Dunrite in Bethpage, who
did not turn away fixing the one chair.  He did try to get me to
re-upholster all 4 but the other 3 are in perfect shape and I said "no"!

 

Moral of the story - business is hurting!

Hi everyone -

 

I am saddened to learn that Bon-Ton, the company in Farmingdale that I
have been using for years for furniture upholstery, shades, etc., has
gone out of business!

 

Of course I should not have waited so long to re-upholster a kitchen
chair but now I am desperate as the vinyl is ripped and hurts when you
sit on it!!!

 

Do any of my Long Island friends have a recommendation for me?
Bon-Ton's owner gave me a referral but it seems no one wants to
re-upholster only one chair!
