I'm a member of the "parent" organization - Action Long Island- and know these people well. Their heart is in this and you can see why when you read the request that follows. Please give this some consideration - I know we all have favorites and this is another request for support, but when 3,000 kids come out on their own for this it tells me even "Middle Schoolers are smarter......."
Thanks- Charlie Schreiber -Gotham Long Island
"Dear Action Long Island Members and Friends,
Remember what it felt like to be a Kid in Middle School?
Our 2007 development efforts are underway for our Kids in Action <http://eblast.invision.com/Functions.php?Action=Goingthere&companyid=19&linkid=953&mailingid=370&emailid=12462> program and WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!
Kids in Action (KIA), a charitable not for profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established by Action Long Island in 2000 as a direct response to the Columbine tragedy. Our mission is to help young people become respectful, responsible, caring citizens with good judgment and integrity. We work with the business community, elected officials, civic leaders and educators to promote character education that fosters respect, responsibility and leadership skills for Long Island school students. Our goal is to help develop and promote strong character and leadership skills in tomorrow's future leaders.
KIA has developed ways for your business to associate itself with this vitally important community program .....Your business can reach tomorrow's future leaders!
Approximately 3000 Long Island middle school students will attend the 7th Annual KIA Youth Conference at Farmingdale State College on November 30. A Leadership Luncheon for conference sponsors and friends of Kids in Action will be held immediately following the conference.
