Sara Paleewong, GANG's wine importer specializing in Thai beer and wines made to complement Asian cuisines, has graciously offered to sponsor our first wine tasting event at the Cocktail Hour & Banquet Dinner. Enjoy the evening's fare with exotic wines, such as Green Tea Wine and Lychee Wine. Wines will be available for purchase at importer's prices, by the bottle or case, and, exclusively for Gotham, each bottle will come with its own Asian Doll Bottle Cozy. She will also be available to take forward orders for all you personal/family/business holiday needs. As a free door prize drawing, Sara is providing a bottle of wine to the lucky winner! DROP YOUR BUSINESS CARD INTO THE BUCKET TO BE ENTERED INTO A FREE DRAWING FOR ONE OF HER ASIAN-DOLL-BOTTLE-COZY-WRAPPED BOTTLES OF WINE!!!

GANG's high-end fashion importer, Meng Shen, has just returned from two heady months in China, and she has offered to exclusively provide GothamAsian with a limited quantity of exquisite 100% silk shawls with complementary accessorized pins for purchase by our Members. Although Shen's fashions grace retail bastions such as Bergdorf's, Bendel's, Bloomies, Barneys, Saks, I.Magnum, these elegant shawls will not be sold to the public, but her comparable items can be found in Bergdorf's for more than $250. To kick off an early festive holiday spending frenzy, Shen will be offering her unique shawls at an obscenely discounted price-which she hasn't even disclosed to me. Purchase one for that very special person (yourself!), and plan ahead for holiday staffing and family gift needs. Forward orders taken only at our event. Cash & checks accepted.

Gotham's very own Linda 'Queenie' Newman will be Riding-the-Circuit with us, giving a brief introduction to the Mentor/Mentee Program for which she is coordinator. This is one of the extraordinary inclusive benefits of Membership in GANG. I encourage each member to take advantage of this perk to offer &/or accept professional growth. You will be paired with someone who can enable you to fulfill a life's dream of learning a new skill, hone an old one to a professional level, find out that little glitch that's preventing you from separating you &/or your business out from the crowd; &/or offer your skills to an eager learner and maybe find that apprentice who you've been searching for to someday pass along your business, share your expertise in a favorite hobby, teach your language and share your culture . . . the possibilities are exponential. BRING YOUR WISHLIST TO QUEENIE. We can truss her upside down by the heels, shake her, and see what ideas pour out! [Oooh! Queenie's gonna get me for this one!]

Our illustrious Co-Chair, Mynoon Doro, ushered out Spring and ushered in Summer this year being well deservedly recognized both locally and internationally for her many talents and achievements. Mynoon gave the keynote speech at the commencement ceremonies of Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). At China's behest, she was then whisked away to Nanjing, China, to attend the "Worldwide Overseas Chinese Women Entrepreneur Conference." Mynoon was one of only 60 overseas Chinese business owners to attend this first time exchange among international Chinese business entrepreneurs. No sooner did Mynoon return back to Gotham, than she was honored by NYC at Gracie Mansion, as one of the "50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business," most of whom are first generation immigrants, all achieving over $1M in revenues. Before she's off and running again, we've presumed upon her gracious nature to share with us, in her inimitable humorous manner, a brief presentation of her recent experiences in China and her whirlwind career achievements (see attachments).

We will be welcoming five new Members since our last meeting and we hope that the Gotham Family will join us in this hearty welcome.

Everyone, please remember to bring plenty of business cards!

As we're a relatively new group, we still have many slots open for new members with less likelihood that they'll be conflicts. (You may pass along professional information to me so that I may field potential 'conflicts,' and give an OK for guests to attend.) These next dinner meetings for 2005 are expected to be vital for the Asian Group as we grow into a cohesive, supportive, dynamic force with the Gotham Family. You're encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to attend as guests to add to our already strong foundation of founding members.

Just a reminder . . . Riding-the-Circuit is one of the best ways to network and meet a new group of people to whom you can spread the word of what you do and how you can be of help to them. Some groups meet at lunchtime, others for breakfast. There's groups in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Manhattan, Westchester, etc., so one might be convenient to attend near your home before work. Check it out on the Gotham site http://www.gothamnetworking.com

Thanx.

Cheers!
