Accounting Manager


The Accounting Manager, reporting to the Controller, manages all aspects of
the general ledger with emphasis in the accounts payable and grant
accounting functions.  Responsibilities include completing bank
reconciliations, fixed asset processing and requires supervision of the
accountant, accounts payable staff, payroll and related tax filings and
ensures timely and accurate completion of this work.  The position is a key
liaison between Accounting and other Foundation staff, and ensures smooth
and accurate day-to-day Accounting operations.

Candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and six years of
accounting/finance experience, with one or more years as Accounting Manager
or equivalent supervision of functions and staff (nonprofit experience is
preferred).  Thorough knowledge of accounting systems and general knowledge
of accounting software, with Great Plains experience preferred.
Demonstrated judgment and analytical skills and good written and oral
communications skills.  Outstanding knowledge of MS Excel, Access and
Crystal and FRx Reports, WordPerfect, Windows or similar applications.
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues and flexibility to work occasional extended
workdays.
