The primary focus of my boutique law practice is to help entrepreneurs,
professionals, and companies who have been stung personally, professionally,
and financially by a painful business dispute, often at the hands of a
partner, vendor, associate or other affiliate.

My law practice is dedicated to resolving clients' business disputes
creatively through arbitration, mediation, or litigation to achieve success
and peace of mind. I focus particular emphasis upon effective, responsive
communication with clients, helping to inform and guide them through the
often unfamiliar and confusing maze of business litigation and alternative
dispute resolution.

The Law Offices of David J. Abeshouse is a private law firm concentrating
largely in business Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). The firm's
practice focuses primarily upon resolution of business and commercial
disputes and conflicts (including contracts, real estate, dissolution,
franchising, unfair competition, entertainment, and other substantive areas)
through litigation or ADR (principally arbitration and mediation); as well
as litigation risk management (troubleshooting for potential areas of
litigation liability); and some transactional work. Clients include
individuals in business, entrepreneurs, and professionals; various types and
sizes of partnerships; limited liability companies (LLCs); closely-held
corporations (often family businesses); and publicly-traded companies.

The firm's practice centers in the State and Federal trial and appellate
courts in the New York Metropolitan area, and before ADR forums. Frequently
serving as NY local counsel to out-of-state lawyers or companies involved in
litigation in this region, the firm respects and protects referring
professionals' relationships with their clients.

On the matter of speaking engagements: I have made presentations before
business- and professionally-oriented groups (such as the NY State Society
of CPAs, networking groups, national and local Bar Associations,
business-oriented church and temple groups, the American Arbitration
Association, national trade associations, and others) on a number of topics,
mostly focusing upon protection of legal rights in business and the various
alternatives to judicial resolution of cases through litigation in court,
and law practice management. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) includes
arbitration, mediation, conciliation, early neutral evaluation, and other
binding and non-binding means of resolving disputes without resorting to
court. ADR is appropriate for many types of cases and clients, and is far
superior to court litigation in some instances (yet sometimes court remains
the only viable means of achieving the desired result). It is useful to
learn in advance about the differences and how you might best position
yourself and your business to take advantage of the opportunities ADR
presents (for example, through inclusion of a well-crafted clause in your
form contracts and/or individual contracts requiring disputes arising out of
the contract to be submitted for resolution by specified forms of ADR,
instead of court litigation). If you are responsible for arranging speakers
for such a group and feel that your group might be interested in this sort
of topic, please feel free to get in touch with me.

Thanks again,

David
