Sitting with a client in the office the other day, we were going down names on a list. His name is Sebastian and he is from somewhere in South America, I forgot exactly. I have known him for about five years or so. He told me that his name was on the list. No it isn't I told him. Yes, he said, it is right here as he pointed to the name John Gordon or something like that. News to me, but Sebastian had legally changed his name. He wants to act and preferred a John Wayne type name. I thought it was a bad trade. I like Sebastian better. Changing your name though is not necessarily a bad idea. I was not consulted about mine, and if I had been I would have expressed mild disgust. I am not sure where it came from or who I was named after, if anyone. If I could change it, I wonder what I would pick. Quarterbacks have great names, I would consider some of those. But after all I am not a quarterback or an actor and have grown used to the name my parents picked for me. I will just have to keep it.
