The Doors second LP, Strange Days, featured a song, People Are Strange.
Strange days indeed as one consider the world around us (More on that later.).
I strategize. I plan.
Not all the time but certainly when things matter.
Sometimes, for some matters, I might need to think fast, almost to the point of brinkmanship.
Even where one might expect nothing of the sort to take place.
It happened a few days ago at a fraternal organization where several people acted with malice for the second time in two meetings (Shelly and I celebrated our anniversary at our synagogue the first evening so I was not there to make things right (or less bad).). A better outcome occurred but I left somewhat frustrated when an association based on three core principles exhibited anything but. Only fun and good works should rule the day at such gatherings. So much good occurs. Support for worthy charities. Scholarships.
So what to do?
Neil Young sings a song featured on On The Beach.
The chorus goes:
Ooh baby,
that's hard to change
I can't tell them
how to feel.
Some get stoned,
some get strange,
But sooner or later
it all gets real.
Walk on, walk on,
Walk on, walk on.
Perhaps.
Certainly something to ponder.
But certainly some things matter even more. Start with the state of our country. I look forward to sharing my assessment of the almost first 100 days of the administration of “Real Donald Trump” (his twitter handle is @realDonaldTrump this week. The announcement reads
