I have admitted in past blogs that I am not an athletic person. My idea of a work-out is to walk the treadmill as I watch a trashy television show that I have taped; usually an episode of The Real Housewives. As I have gotten older, however, I have recognized the increased importance of exercise for me.
Recently, I increased my time on the treadmill and, consequently watching trashy television. I then decided to try a different method of exercise, so I enrolled in a Zumba class with friends. After two classes, I found myself making excuses not to attend. In talking with a family member-who’s an exercise fiend--I told her about my Zumba experience and my dawning realization that perhaps I just didn’t like Zumba. Her insightful response, “Just remember, the only exercise that works is the exercise that works for you.”
I think I’m going to try yoga next. What works for you?
