I just started David McCullogh's new book on the Wright Brothers. When I was in fifth grade I did a specialty report on them though I can't say I remember much about it. I do remember though my mother coming to class that day and sitting in the back while I nervously gave my presentation. The book is filled with a number of quotes from brother Wilber. One says this: "if I were giving a young man advice as to how he might succeed in life, I would say to him, pick out a good father and mother, and begin life in Ohio." I don't know about Ohio, and I certainly wouldn't necessarily advise a young man to start in New Jersey. But I do know I picked out a good mother and father. And I am grateful for that.
